Welcome back to all the friends we missed in Lockdown!

We are welcoming missed friends and new friends too.

We can’t wait to restart 2020.

Anglo-Spanish Nursery – Clapham, London

We are an 86 place day nursery and Pre-School nurturing children from 2 months to 5 years. We are situated in the heart of Clapham, London, minutes away from Clapham High Street and conveniently located between Clapham North and Clapham Common tube stations.

We are open from Monday to Friday, 49 weeks per year. Please note that we are closed for two weeks at Christmas, one week at Easter and Bank Holidays.

Our opening times are from 8.00 am to 6pm. As part of our effort to help working parents, we also offer an optional bespoke service to drop off their children earlier if/when they need it. Our Early Birds Club runs from 7.40-8.00 am.

The nursery was established in 1998 and since then has been run as a private bilingual day nursery (English-Spanish), continuing to evoke a community centric family feel and encourage diversity and equality.

We believe continuous learning and development for staff is paramount for a quality education, so we have three Inset Days set during the year, where we do in-house training, we update staff qualifications like Paediatric First Aid or Safeguarding, and we have some group reflection and planning time.

At the Anglo Spanish Nursery School we offer a full immersion bilingual education; where children acquire an additional language unconsciously, through strong personal bonds, social interactions and fun experiences.

The nursery is organised in 3 rooms, each of them adapted to the developmental stage of the children; Class 1 – Baby Room, Class 2 – Toddlers and Class 3 – PreSchool. Children enjoy fresh home cooked meals in the dining room prepared by our on-site kitchen, the dining room is also used as an extension of the rooms for activities. We are exceptionally privileged to have a large secure outside playground, which is accessible daily from all the classrooms.

The majority of the staff members at the nursery are Spanish native speakers, which maintains the Spanish language and culture attributes of our nursery authentic. Our Nursery Practitioners are very passionate about working with babies/children and they are all highly qualified in Childcare, most of them with University Degrees.

I started my journey at the ASNS in the Baby Room in 2010. In 2011 I moved to class 3, the Preschool to be the Room Leader, where I grew professionally more than I ever imagined I would. In 2013, I took over the position of Deputy Manager and then in 2014, I was promoted to Manager of the nursery. I am delighted to have the opportunity to have such a positive impact on all these very young children’s lives at Anglo Spanish.

As the Operations Manager for Childcare & Learning Group, I oversee Cranbrook Independent Nursery & Pre-School, Working Mums Daycare & Pre-School, Castle Nursery & Pre-School, Millie’s House Nursery & Preschool and Anglo-Spanish Nursery School. I have worked in the childcare industry for more than 30 years and have two children of my own. Prior to being Operations Manager, I worked as a Nursery Manager in the Cranbrook group of nurseries, having originally started as a Nursery Practitioner. As Operations Manager I am accountable for the development of each nursery. I ensure they are equipped with the manpower, expert knowledge and training required to ensure compliance with a range of legislation and best practice. This enables all children to develop in a safe and secure environment and to reach their full potential. I love the challenge of the role, and most importantly I relish contributing to your child’s happiness.

I commenced the role of Regional Manager for Childcare & Learning Group in August 2018, having previously been the Area Manager since January 2016. This followed many years working as the Nursery Manager at Castle Nursery & Preschool at our Markenfield setting. During my time as manager, I completed my B.Ed. in Early Years and then went on to complete my Masters in Early Years. Early childhood education and care has always been very important to me and a job I love. This grew even more when I had my own two children. There is nothing like having two children of your own go through child care settings to really put into focus the incredible responsibility and importance of our roles. My love of early years and parenting is what drives me to ensure we are delivering quality to the children in our settings.

My present role as Regional Manager for Childcare & Learning Group, follows the journey of my career starting with Cranbrook Nursery & Preschool, where I first joined Buttercup Barn in May 2000 as a Nursery Practitioner. I then moved to Ivy Cottage as a Deputy Manager and in 2002 I became the Manager. I transferred to Clover Court Nursery in 2010 and at the start of 2018 reached out to London’s Working Mums’ East Sheen nursery where I supported during a transition between managers. In August 2018, I was appointed Regional Manager for Childcare & Learning Group. My interest in early childhood education began when I was 13 years old, having completed a school work experience in a Nursery. From that point, I knew I wanted this to be my career and to make a difference in the start of a child’s life. I have a BA Hons in Childcare and Education. From that point I knew I wanted this to be my career and to make a difference in the start of a child’s life. I have a BA Hons in Childcare and Education. For ASNS, I don’t hold direct responsibility for the setting, although I am involved through senior leadership team support and collaborative working. I am the Regional Manager directly responsible for our Anglo Spanish setting.

The nursery values the importance of working in partnership with families, we organise events during the year where families can get together and enjoy spending time with their children in a nursery environment.
